Signage
Justin "Scrappers" Morrison made this amazing A-Board for us a few weeks ago. I have hesitated posting it on the blog because I needed to send in money for a sign permit. Sigh. This city looooves its permits. But now that the check is in the mail, I am so proud to show off this brilliant artwork. This is off topic, but would you please do an entry about your new coffee by Courier? I'm having a hard time making the adjustment. I can't help but be a Stumptown Hairbender espresso snob (who isn't?), but I'm definitely willing to give Courier a try.
Give us the deets soon, please. We need to know.
The espresso on bar is currently a mix of only two lots. Congo Kivu Peaberry-november crop arrival, and Rwanda Gatare A- arrived almost a year ago (past crop). So if your into espresso its kind of purist as the mix is only two straight roasts of these two origins. Its unbalenced, but only having two coffees there is more weight upon them and thier roasts. Espresso with all roasters is a constantly changing thing as crops change and the coffee we have change with age, and as different people roast your coffee. The goal of many is to maintain a continuity of flavor. Courier Coffee Roasters is one person (me). The coffee is done in small batches, in a gas-fired steel drum roaster, and its getting better all the time. I think my espresso is more tasty at 30hrs out of roast, I think jeff is more into 40-50hrs. the smell of the Congo really comes out. its wieghted to the front and mid half of the palet. Please nose in and check out the flavors. Yes- I used to be hugely into coffeepeople, but that was when it was Portlands coffee, and when the trailblazers were doing well. Please try me, if anyone wants get my number from Half&Half, stop by the roastery and visit, till wednesday I have this awesome espresso machine at my shop and ill make anyone a n espresso if they want. -Joel Domreis Courier Coffee Roasters
I want to give you mad props for the Scrappers sign. It's beautiful.
Joel,
Thanks a lot for the details about your roasting scene - sounds awesome. I definitely like it and would love to learn more about you. I read the article WW did a few months ago. I'll be in touch.
