Summer goals / Resolutions de l'ete
by joon

Great, awesome!

Those are my goals for summer... some are already on the way, others are just longer to get started:

- Riding my bike much more (already good, I am riding two to three times a week. Which is 1 hour and ten minutes everyday. When I don't it's eithre I want to read, or I am afraid to explode on my bike like yesterday, or other things to do or I am sick like last two weeks. By the way, I finally went to see a doctor and I had a kidney infection! Not that great. I am under antibiotics and riding my bike again! so no problem)
- Playing saxophone again. I brought mine from France. (I started but I don't know where I am going with it. Feels good anyway!)
- Reading Harry Potter, Volume 6.(I started and I don't want to go too fast on this one, can be dangerous for a muggle (non-magic human)
- Drinking more iced mochas and greentea frappuccino (I am getting addict to it)
- Working on some stuffs to get ready for September (not started yet, not at all!)
- Going to yoga more often (I am doing that more regularly than during school year)
- Starting acupuncture (third appointment tomorrow)
- Taking swimming lessons (not started yet, I think I am a litlle bit scared!)
- Wearing skirts (Started and feels so good!)
- Going to Ashland for Oregon Shakespeare Festival (I am working on it)

Well that's it! I have still some time to work some stuffs out and get deeper in others... ca, c'est cool, toc de mac!

Sick and sick again
by joon

Because right now, I feel not well, I decided to post some entry about bad I have felt lately!
It's really weird, on my acupuncture appointment last Tuesday, Skip asked me how was my digestion and if there is something I don't complain it's my stomach. I never hard time to digest. And in the last years when someone got flu(spelling?), I just got symptoms of it for 12 hours and it's ok! I can work because I don't really feel bad and I am not even sure of what I have. And the other thing is this allergy to wild rice. I guess it's wild rice. Because four years ago, in 9 months I got sick like food poisoning, intoxication three times and when I tracked what I ate each time, wild rice was the thing. So for the last three years I just managed to avoid wild rice, refusing politely, and I never got sick again until last wednesday. Sick for 8 hours (starting downtown...great) and two days after, I was able to eat normally. when I ate this soup, I think there was wild rice but I was not sure so I ate it anyway. Mistake! But as Iwant to know, I went to the place and asked for the ingredients. I will have informations tomorrow. After that I got a wonderful week end and last night, I had the impression someone just took my back and was compressing it! That was awful, new pain, I didn't know how to manage. All next morning, It was my stomach which was compressed. I have cramps for minutes and after everything is better. And it starts again. I have no idea waht it can be. But two of my students were sick today.
So maybe it's a virus. So it doesn't make the entry of the world neither helps my situation. But well I wanted to share that. One thing I am happy with, is the fact that I realize, I am less hypocondriac than before. Because I am not imagining deadly illness!
Good, that's good news.

Croquis d'amerique
by joon

My homepage is "Le Monde", one of the biggest and most interesting french newspaper. I found a blog on their site written by a french journalist living in USA. The blog is in french but it's always interesting to have a glance of what foreigners catches about their life in a country.

Harry...
by joon

Ok, most of you don't care and think it's probably dumb...but anyway, I don't care either of what people think or not! Harry potter arrived by mail today. ANd I was not waiting for it before at least three four days.
I can't wait. Well this one is shorter than the last one but you know, whatever.

Three years ago, I decided to read something in english and I also wanted to understand all this fuss about harry potter. I thought it was so weird! So I did both things. Read Harry Potter in english. Well, with all the magic vocabulary, I have to say it was rather difficult sometimes but I found that fun and decided to read the second one. I became addict with the third one and got totally crazy with the two following ones. Now, I am reading again the fifth one to be sure to understand the sixth one which just got out (And it's here !). And I am already thinking about the period of sadness and feeling of useless I will have to go over after that and even, worse, the last one. But I guess it's not before...three years maybe.
So from now, well, except if it's really urgent, I am reading! Have a good end of July guys!

Acupuncture & Yoga
by joon

Last week, I had my first acupuncture appointment. I decided to use acupuncture for two main reasons:

- All my upper back from neck to shoulder is always very tensed and two weeks ago, I woke up with such pain that I was not able to move normally. Since then, on my bike, it was impossible to turn correctly my head to watch for cars behind.

- Eczema. I have birth eczema. It usually goes with asthma. And my Dad generously transmitted me both. Well. I don't suffer from asthma really. It's here and I know it can come back but I don't take any medication anymore for that. And eczema went away for one or two years and came back last summer. AS asthma, it never goes away totally but wait for his time. When eczema disappeared totally, I had instead a tiny dry skin spot on my hand who was itching and playing disappearence and appearence. When eczema came back, this thing ran away!
Generally, when something disappeared, it finds an other way in your body to tell you things. Eczema, even from birth, is also linked to stress, weather, clothes, food... I don't want to take cortisone all the time, I had heavy medication all my childhood so now that my health is so stable, I am looking for less use of medecine. And because eczema came back so bad, and I am taking yoga classes, I am being treated thanks to acupuncture.

It was funny to have those needles in your skin (they only put needles in arms, legs, feet and face. Japanese acupuncture) and you can't move, so the only thing you do is relaxing. The day after, I already were able to turn my head better!

In France, I used Feldenkreis Method, Kinesiology, Ostheopathy, Sound therapy. And always, I learned more and fell better. I sometines didn't have a precise reason to go to one of those thing. Sometimes, I was curious and knew that everything in your life is linked. I knew I had to do something. If you have a pain (psychologic or physical), there are never only one reason to that and your body tries to warn you in different ways. And physic and psychic always play together!

Happy Bastille Day ! / Joyeux 14 juillet!
by joon

h_9_ill_672733_00433212.jpg

This picture comes from the annual speech for Bastille Day. Apparently, he seems happy! Good for him! I am actually happy I haven't had to listen to the speech!

Yesterday, I went to the 200 SW Market street for Bastille Day. The restaurant La Carafe (where you eat the best "Pommes frites" (fries)of Portland) organized a whole day of events for Bastille day. There was food, and "petanque" (kind of bocce but heavier "boules"), a waiter race like in Paris : Course de garcons de cafe. And my drama's kids performed a play there. That was nice. Also, I recommand to go to St Honore to get some "chouquettes" delicious pastries but not too sweet nor heavy. I forgot about those and they are so good!
At night, well, I forgot about Bastille Day to go to Ben Harper's concert. That was great!

No comment except I am wondering if it's a picture for Gap. Kind of "This is our new next fall collection for men"!

Aucun commentaire! Sauf que je me demande si c'est pas une photo pour la nouvelle collection des trois suisses. Genre catalogue automne, ligne pour hommes!

4th July
by joon

"Fuck yeah America", sorry I have just watched "Team America"
Happy fourth of July and Dad Happy Birthday!
I had two things to celebrate this year!
I had the nicest 4th of July ever, well it's my first. Anyway, we had a pretty nice ride all afternoon along the waterfront (south to Sellwood) and back, ending up on Hawthorne, had a bite (lebanese, not the best but nice), walking along Hawthorne (we never go there) and because we already there went to visit Sarah and Peter. Good timing, Peter was building his "$13,99 BBQ stuff" so we stayed. Great time. And we finished on the hill up the reservoir watching illegal fireworks and the legal one but so small between two trees. That was super wicked nice awesome.
Well this morning, the waterfront was not that nice full of fireworks and beers but you know. Once a year.
Really, it gave me courage to go back to work.
Thanks...

Tour de France
by joon

affiche.jpg

Apparently Lance Amstrong for his last "Tour" is already well. When Adam first came in France to visit me two years ago, we went to my grand parents' house. I could tell that my grand father was trying to find something to say to Adam. It was in July right in the middle of the "Tour de France" and so every newspaper was showing Lance Amstrong's pictures. My grand parents also watch the Tour de France everyday. It's their way to travel they say. So finally my grand father found the common point between Adam and himself. It last two minutes. Lance Amstrong is american. He is good. Yeah.

Apparemment Lance Amstrong est deja bien place pour son dernier tour.
