Result(at) du referendum
by joon

This is not the final results but here we go....We showed everyone again how proud we are. Which can be good sometimes to be stubborn and proud like this animal who represents us.
What it bothers me in this all thing is that :
1 - Yes or no to the constitution, things are going to continue anyway. They just asked us what do we think, they gonna change some words to make it seem better and here we go, on the road man. Constitution is ok now. The thing is now our european neighbors are going to mistrust us and blablabla... Now France is once again the one who slows down things. If it was for right reasons.
2 - Once again the reasons that we say "no" are just not the right, important problems. More things too hard to understand and well hidden are in this constitution. People reacted with fear again and not thinking really about future consequences. Once again, people cover their butt.
Personnally I can't say if I agree or disagree. There are too many things that I don't know.
The only thing is that "could we complain about right things for once"?
And no, I didn't vote...because I didn't know when I left France that we will have to participate to a referendum. I need to get my electoral card stuff stuff...

Festival de Cannes 2005
by joon

Last Wednesday was the opening ...
And the out of competition category, I advice you a "cartoon" Kirikou, the one here is the second but the first one is a treasure of beauty "Kirikou". Otherwise, I like Emir Kusturica's work (the president of the festival this year) and I liked one movie I watched
from Amos Gitai. And I am very curious about the Jim Jarmush's film.
And Michael Haneke's, and others...oh, I love Festival de Cannes, even if sometimes you have the impression to always see the same people, it's also the occasion to say..."oh, I forgot about this guy, mmmhhh, what did he do?"

A great show to see.
by joon
Hereyou will find a link to this company who is in Portland. I have been going there two times already and it's incredible. The work of the actors is very good, rythm, body... I feel really close because one of the director has been study in Paris at the same school than I and it doesn't mean that we work the same but I understand some of the process of the creation better.
It's still possible to go until June 12th....

by joon
Yesterday, Adam and I went to Elephant's delicatessen (in their new location) after a walk in Washington Park. I had a look in the alcohol section and what? French cider. I know that here cider means sparkling apple juice but French Sparkling Cider coming from Normandy, my "region", the country of alcoholic cider can only be this the one I know and love. Neither Adam nor I checked on that. We were very disappointed to realize we bought apple juice. But we were home and we don't go in that part of Portland that often, so we decided to open the bottle. Bottle half full of sparkling should be drunk, because this kind of cork doesn't go again on the bottle or it would dead the day after? " Que nenni", to keep it and we usually do that with Champagne, put a spoon (normal spoon with no plastic or other material than a traditonnal spoon) in the bottle. And it works....How long I don't know, you usually finish it the day after. Would it be sparkling otherwise, without nothing, all night in the fridge, I won't want to take the risk with champagne or French cider but with stupid sparkling apple juice, maybe...
Tell me about your tips if you know some or experience this one and tell me how it worked!

Symetrie et/and symmetric
by joon
We have a wonderful living room, now so I will be happy because my birthday is coming to invite you. Not only because of my birthday, I wanted to do a party anyway soon so! Still I don't know if it will be something like on the 28th or the week after!
When my parents left, they let us a gift card and we got a coffee table. Thank you...we love it. Aude, the vase you offered us is great in our new living room! On the same day, we went to get a rug and of course we changed everything in the living room and I added some stuffs on the walls. My parents brought some of my personal things like pieces of fabric or paintings that I love. I feel like home more and more. It's so good to have my things I was living with in France.
During our "adjustment" in the living room, I just realized how much my work (director, actress) makes my way of designing space different. Adam put the rug symetrically with the wall and I almost had a heart attack (I am sorry cheri). So I heard myself explaining how much a space is dead if you put things symmetrically. For sure, on stage. It's why three, five, seven are interesting numbers because it's not balanced. You can have conflicts, emotions...well, complicated to explain right now. But basically, it's like our body, or our face. No, not symmetric. One eye smaller, a leg longer...even little tiny but no, not symmetric...if you find someone who has a perfect symmetric face...believe me or not but you will freak out. Nature is not perfectly balanced, in the most beautiful architectural monument, you can't even see it easily but it's not perfectly symmetric or it wouldn't be that beautiful. After all I guess you can also live in a house where everything is perfectly symmetric, personally I can't, I have the impression I can't stay in that space for long. But to finish, I was weird on this week end, I hope not too much annoying with my "uh, uh...this is symmetric!?"
On adore!
