Jona Bechtolt mentioned in Tribune
Tribune touts The Blow:
The Blow
(DANCE) Jona Bechtolt has come a long way since his days as the teenage drummer for the pop-punk band Allegro. Now a critically acclaimed artist whose music has been commissioned by the Portland Institute for Contemporary Art, Bechtolt is a splendid addition to the formerly one-woman band the Blow. Khaela Marcich’s previously operatic affairs have been retooled into high-energy dance numbers with a poppy sheen. Marcich’s stunningly honest writing catches you off guard: You realize you’ve been dancing like a joyful maniac to some of the saddest music in the world.
