two days before christmas there was a top secret show at holocene, wherein my band riddenpaa (check us out on myspace! listen to demos from two years ago made in my basement!) was asked to open for m. ward before he played some big australian festivals.
i have no pix of our set but I do have this nice shot from backstage. thanks claire!
the show was great - we played well and m. ward + band sounded amazing. holocene only holds 300-odd people so it was an xmas present to everyone who was in town for the holidays.
oh yeah it was also a five dollar show, a total bonus for those broke among us.
there was a serious sound system in holocene that night - we had a soundguy just for monitors!
plus shira did main board sound, I hadn't seen her since girls rock camp 2002
and of course the band is so good partially because there's two drummers, jordan (pictured above) and rachel (pictured below)
thanks to everyone who came! thanks to matt for asking us, and even thanks to the painfully drunk girl who heckled us so hard throughout our set!

obviously "blogging more" wasn't my new years' resolution. it's funny how I can assiduously check my favorites and complain to myself that nothing new has been posted...then I realize I haven't put anything up here in weeks.
but I have been taking tons of photos.
remember that art residency I got where I sold photos to have money for it? thanks for helping me out back then, it was awesome.
much needed time in the woods and a huge studio and constant stoking of the stove.
