outside Grass Hut, there was a lovely standing wave to practice your log riding on. Claire has now begun her SoCal adventure, this was the perfect precursor to it.
the paper mache curl was part of the most excellent California show that Bwana Spoons and Scrappers Morrison exhibited last month at GH, they made a lovely skateable mural too, a small detail of which you can see here:

My hair is almost long enough now that old ladies can usually tell that I'm a girl! Serious! I was in OC having my nails done, because what else am I gonna do, and the little old lady to my left actually said, "well young man, it looks like you're getting the royal treatment, eh?". When I told her I was a woman she said "oh, now that I get a closer look I can see that you are a lovely young lady. It's just the style nowadays, and it looks beautiful on you." Thanks.
