Which is why I’ve never really found it funny. Buuuut the real story here is that South Park did an episode about scientology, where they revealed what are supposed to be secret teachings–the stuff about thetas and aliens. Isaac Hayes is a member of the church of scientology. Weird too, that he took so long to express his dismay–probably some pressure from church authorities at work. So the question becomes: is the meanness of mocking scientology worse than the meanness of thescary stuff scientologists do? I don’t think so. I’m with you on gawker though.
